Strictifying and taming directed paths in Higher Dimensional Automata

چکیده
Directed paths have been used by several authors to describe concurrent executions of a program. Spaces directed in an appropriate state space contain with all possible legal schedulings. It is interesting investigate whether one obtains different topological properties such if restricts attention schedulings "nice" properties, eg involving synchronizations. This note shows that this not the case, ie may operate nice without inflicting any harm. Several results had previously obtained Ziemianski. We attempt make them accessible for wider audience giving easier proof these findings application quite elementary from algebraic topology; notably nerve lemma.

Higher dimensional automata revisited
The dual of a true concurrency schedule appears to be a false concurrency automaton, a paradox we resolved in a previous paper by extending the latter to higher dimensions. This extension may be formalized via such discrete geometries as n-categories, simplicial complexes, cubical complexes, and Chu spaces. We advocate the last as having a clear notion of event, a well-defined process algebra u...
متن کاملHigher Dimensional Automata
We provide the basics of a 2-dimensional theory of automata on series-parallel biposets. We define recognizable, regular and rational sets of series-parallel biposets and study their relationship. Moreover, we relate these classes to languages of series-parallel biposets definable in monadic second-order logic.
متن کاملPartial Higher-dimensional Automata
We propose a generalization of higher-dimensional automata, partial HDA. Unlike HDA, and also extending event structures and Petri nets, partial HDA can model phenomena such as priorities or the disabling of an event by another event. Using open maps and unfoldings, we introduce a natural notion of (higher-dimensional) bisimilarity for partial HDA and relate it to history-preserving bisimilarit...
متن کاملHigher-Dimensional Timed Automata
We introduce a new formalism of higher-dimensional timed automata, based on van Glabbeek’s higher-dimensional automata and Alur’s timed automata. We prove that their reachability is PSPACE-complete and can be decided using zone-based algorithms. We also show how to use tensor products to combat state-space explosion and how to extend the setting to higher-dimensional hybrid automata.
متن کاملDomains of Higher-Dimensional Automata
We carry on the program set up in GJ92] by giving constructions of \domains of higher-dimensional automata (HDA)" on which we can deene the truly-concurrent semantics of parallel languages, much in the style of domain theory (see GS90]). In GJ92] we gave a semantics for CCS-like languages. In this article, we show how to extend the technique to languages with real states, while keeping nice alg...
